Does Nature need humankind?
April 26, 1986, Chernobyl nuclear disaster. During a test, the reactor #4 becomes uncontrollable and explodes releasing large quantities of radioactive elements into the atmosphere, contaminating the environment for hundreds of years and causing numerous deaths, both direct and indirect (between 60 and more than 4000 depending on the report ...).
2021, 35 years later, what happened to the exclusion zone inhabited by more than 100,000 people at that time?
This is what I wanted to see through this Urban Exploration (URBEX).
My observation is that nature is resilient. Water has the power to seep everywhere bringing plant life that literally cracks buildings from floor to ceiling. The streets and avenues have been swallowed up by the forest. The dogs that follow visitors do not have 5 legs but 4.
By extrapolating, what will remain from Man 100 years, 1000 years, 10,000 years after its end? Probably nothing, which will put us back in our insignificant place in the universe.

La nature a-t-elle besoin de l'humanité ?
26 avril 1986, catastrophe nucléaire de Tchernobyl. Lors d'un essai, le réacteur n°4 de la centrale devient incontrôlable et explose libérant d'importantes quantités d’éléments radioactifs dans l’atmosphère, contaminant l'environnement pour des centaines d'années et provoquant de nombreux décès, directs et indirects (entre 60 et plus de 4000 selon les rapports...).
2021, 35 ans plus tard, qu'est-il advenu dans la zone d'exclusion habitées par plus de 100000 personnes à l'époque ?
C'est ce que j'ai souhaité voir à travers cet Urban Exploration (URBEX).
Le constat est que la nature reprend ses droits. L'eau a le pouvoir de s'infiltrer partout et apporte avec elle la vie végétale qui fait littéralement craquer les bâtiments, du sol au plafond. Les rues et avenues ont été avalées par la forêt. Les chiens qui suivent les visiteurs n'ont pas 5 pattes mais bien 4.
En extrapolant, que restera-t-il comme trace de l'Homme 100 ans, 1000 ans, 10000 ans après sa fin ? Probablement rien, ce qui nous remettra bien à notre insignifiante place dans l'univers.
